East vs West

Haha, having been travelling to the east every day for the past 6 years, I hardly noticed any difference between the east of singapore and the west. Everything was the same, the people the places, everything. I mean, Singapore's so small, how different could one end be from another right? Amazingly, my friends have told me that the east is very different from the west, and that they find people from the west very weird and all. I admit, I was sad at first, but then i realised there had to be a reason for this. So friends, I've tried to understand why the west is so different from the east, and hopefully i make sense.

I think the estates in the west are way older than those in the east. I was roaming the streets of jurong west earlier today and i realised how old and run down the neighbourhood i was walking through was.

I think (though this may be a generalisation), that the people in the west are poorer. When i speak of west, I mean the deep west, like jurong, boon lay and clementi. If the number of condominums and private estaes are an accurate gauge of the wealth of the people who live in a particular area (although this may not be entirely true), i think people from the east are way richer. There are just so many private houses, terraces, condominiums along katong, marine parade, kemabangan, tanah merah, changi. The west is mainly made up of HDB estates. So i guess this in turn results in a difference in the type of people who come from the east and the west.

Now I know why i suck at econs. Anyway, back to the story.

In my opinion, i think the reasons stated above are damn lame. I honestly don't know why people from my side of the country are weird, and I couldn't care less haha. Anyway, Jurong is an awesome place, really. I don't really know about the rest of the west, but jurong east is a nice place at least.

And today I went to take some passport size photographs.

And apparently I've put on weight, according to my photographer. I'm a fat man. I'm the new gemuk.

Sigh. \

This was a totally pathetic post, and a lame attempt to revive my dying blog. So tag, and make me feel happy people.

I've realised that more than anything, I'm damn bloody relieved. And I couldn't have asked for a better ending that physics paper 1 (which was way better than chem paper 1).

Thank you family and friends, for all the help and support through one of the most torturous periods in my life thus far (even though these past 15 days did zoom by very fast). Heh.
